Small Purchases & Short Hiatus

I wanted to write a quick post to announce that I’m now a married man! I tied the knot with the love of my life yesterday, and now we’re off to Athens and the Greek Islands for our honeymoon.  A trip like this would have been a fantasy for us just a few short years ago.  Now it’s possible due to constant frugality and saving.  It’s time to leave our small one bedroom apartment and spend some cash on experiences!  I’ll be back and posting on the blog toward the end of the month.  I’m going to try to share a few photos on my Twitter feed too, so be sure to follow me if you haven’t already.

Also, at the start of October I made a few small additions to my new commission free Robinhood account:FullSizeRender (2)These purchases totaled $347.22 and added $11.44 to my 12-month forward annual dividends for a new yearly total of $2,713.27 or an average of $226.11 each month.  I have updated my portfolio page to reflect the changes.

Unfortunately I won’t be able to respond to comments until the end of the month.  Have a great October everyone!

Congrats to both you and the new Mrs! My wife and I did a cruise of the Mediterranean for our honeymoon and a few ports were in Greece. Such an amazingly beautiful country with wonderful history. Enjoy your trip, we’ll be here when you get back! 🙂

Thank you much Steve, it was such an amazing experience. You predicted that perfectly, the portfolio even gained a few percentage in my absence. Gotta like this passive approach to investing where I can live my life and these great businesses continue sending portions of their profits with me.

    Ryan,

Big congrats, brother. A new phase begins. Wish you both the best!

Have a great time over there in Greece. The whole point behind all of this is to build enough passive income/wealth so that we can do what we want, when we want. That’s exactly what you’re doing right now.

Looking forward to some breath-taking pictures. 🙂

    Best regards.

Thank you so much, Jason. I’ll be sure to ask you any marriage questions since you’re ahead of me in that arena my friend 😉

The trip can’t be expressed in words. I hope you get a chance to get over to Europe one of these days, it’s everything I hoped it would be and we can’t wait to see more. I had fun catching up with all your new articles and tweets, great job as usual!

Thanks for that Keith. We did an awesome job of making memories and picked the perfect place. We got tons of great videos too to edit into something special that we’ll always be able to look back on. Loved it!

Congrats on the marriage! We also recently got married (in August).

How are you liking Robinhood? My wife is thinking about opening an account to do some investing (she’s new). I have heard mixed reviews on it…

Thanks for the comment! I’m very happy with RH so far, I probably won’t put a ton of money in that account until they at least have a website I can access my investments from. There’s also something comforting about having a physical office you can walk into just in case something happens to the investment account, which RH doesn’t have. But for now I’d highly recommend it for smaller amounts.
